CDMUSICROW BLOG 1 JANUARY 2016

Happy New Year to all friends and bloggers.

Last year I can report that I sold 1089 Items across eBay & Amazon. Although eBay is the main point of sale as only 66 Items were processed through Amazon I will continue with Amazon for now.

Here is the Business Card for 2016!!

The message this year is tell your friends and please pass our details on to them to help us push the sales upwards.  The more observant of you will notice WordPress Blog coming soon still the aim to hopefully launch this in 2016 with a marketplace attached to it definitely with a link to the eBay store.

CDMUSICROW is on Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn. The details are on the above card. Please come and like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and if you have a business come and connect with  us on LinkedIn it does not cost anything! I like to share and retweet and a SOLD ON, #CDMUSICROWTrackoftheDay features are among the items I offer, Just type in #CDMUSICROW into Facebook or Twitter previous items should appear!

I am interested and thinking about a Facebook group for friends of CDMusicrow perhaps a daily chit chat discussing Business, tips, music, eBay, Amazon or whatever subject suits the day.  As long as we have fun respect others opinions there would be very few rules.

On the selling front I have reintroduce the International Standard postage to eBay as well as the International Tracked & Signed postage already offered.  I will refund the different as I have one standard rate to European buyers. An extra charge of 10p for packaging is levied for CDS higher for records but I aim to be fair for post & packing costs.

For the time being I'm going to wish you all Happy New Year please come and find us on social media and visit us  at CDMUSICROW STORE

Hello and Welcome to CDmusicrow News Blog on Blogger!! For those that have come across this by accident I sell Cd's, DVDs, Vinyl Singles & Albums plus a few other related items - Link at the bottom of the page!!

Well I have managed to get over 2000 items onto EBay since I last posted something in January on here selling on average 4-6 items a day.  Really like to see 10% of my stock going each month on EBay but may pick up from September. I hope they sort out their maintenance problems surely they must have back-ups etc fees have technically gone up as a featured shop is now £59.99.  Still no real alternatives though would like my own website with shopping cart but would be expensive to set up correctly.  Have been trying play trade for a while in my opinion prices are to cheap as certain companies sell Cd's for 98p including postage.  How is that done then yes if it is digipak under 100g that is 90p plus you have your packaging + 10% fee.  Most of my used stock on Play trade is £2.00 and struggles to sell so I might be calling time on Play trade!! At the end of the day EBay is still better at selling Buy it Now items think I would have the same problems with Amazon regarding pricing.

Introducing Sale of the Day on both Face book and Twitter for my daily sales on EBay think this is a good way to self promote the stock!! Looking at other ideas as well so stay tuned.

That's about all for now folks will try to post more often but see how it goes.

Hello from Brixham! Happy New Year to you all.

The big news today is HMV going into administration. Not a great shock but I hope a buyer is found as its important for music to have a place on the high street. Probably will need to be downsized by a lot we have a HMV in Torquay I wished they had a bigger specialist section, less gadgets and Vinyl records. I think it will survive in some form as there are still a lot of people wanting physical product. We will wait and see what happens before writing its obituary column!

Onto news about Cdmusicrow on EBay . I now have over 1800 items including CDs, DVDs, vinyl and t shirts. It does take a lot of my time but hoping to reach the target of at least 2000 items. Looking at making some changes to the EBay shop front to make it more interactive. I want more people to get involved through this blog, twitter and Facebook. If you have any comments please do let's hear them.

Since I begun over 2 years I have sold over 4500 items I think that this is a great achievement and hope to continue for a long time to come. I would like to ask if you buy something from me and you are not satisfied please do get in touch first before leaving neutral or negative as I think it's only polite.

Please visit my EBay shop @

CDMUSICROW NEWS

28th December 2012

Good Morning from a dreary Brixham I am beginning to wonder when the sun is going to  shine again! I have a question today from Mark in the  United States from my EBay messages.

Some years ago, I was listening to some of my parents' old LP records. I happened to discover the very most beautiful rendition of "Where Or When" that I've ever heard. For the life of me, I wish that I'd noted the names of the singers and orchestra! Recently, I've been trying (and failing) to find/identify that particular recording / performance / rendition / version. It was done by an orchestra, possibly with "strings", a vocal group, a male lead singer, and, possibly, a female lead singer. This performance and recording must date to the 1940s or 1950s. I can't believe that it's not the standard, most famous rendition. Unfortunately, it spoiled me for anything else. (I, for one, am underwhelmed by Peggy Lee's version.) Any chance that you know which recording I'm talking about?

Well I searched the web cause I am not older to know and I came up Leona Horne. Can anyone else come up with any other names it could be? No prizes for any right answer just a bit of fun to re-start the Blog.

A mix year sales wise on EBay but for now I will keep going like to go multichannel onto amazon and will be looking at HMV marketplace as this does seem an obvious choice to sell music. Digital does impact it but still think there is enough people out there wanting the physical format. Around 65 / 35 split at the moment according to Music Week. As it is to continue to be a part time project / business then it does seem to be a lot of hard work to do this.

The Blog will be back regularly in 2013 I will make a better effort to write a bit more so stay tuned .... its only just begun!

TUESDAY 13th MARCH 2012

Hello and Welcome to CDmusicrow News. I am trying a few auction style listings over the next few weeks they will last for 7 days so please take a look at the store. The  address at the bottom of the page.  You may pick up a bargain!

Postage will be going up from the 2nd April no details of what the prices will be yet but if like last year a similar rise prices will be +13p to post a cd to the UK.  So be around £1.22 to post 1st class a standard CD or DVD.  I have no plans to move to 2nd class as trying to offer the fastest service possible.  As prices are inclusive of uk post (FREE)  this does not affect the uk.  Overseas I will review the prices currently £1.99 per cd £1.29 for each additional cd.

I see still no comments on the blog that is fine long as you all know you can if you wish.

I hear a supermarket is getting into the act of sponsoring  festivals this year.  MFest Food and music festival being held at Harwood House, Leeds 7/8 July. Artists to perform include Human League, Texas, inspiral carpets and Bob Geldolf. You can search the net for further infor if interested.

No other news to pass on as always please visit the store and why not subscribe to the newsletter giving you the latest details of CDs for sale. Details on shop front.

WEEKEND BLOG - 3/4 March 2012

Hello again from sunny Brixham.  The Cd's mentioned in yesterdays blog will not be here to Monday now.  Will hopefully put some on Monday and Tuesday morning.

One of the quietest weeks for a while on EBay I do wonder if sometimes it is working properly but I am sure it is.  Paypal continues to have the occasional postage blip so when this happens it off to the Post Office to wait in the queue or create one!

I have ruled out going to sell on other online sites for the time being.  To be honest there is only Amazon marketplace unless that CD is not there I can't see me selling it any easier then EBay.

Time to mention a few companies that I use for supplies.

Stormtrading for envelopes.  They seem to be strong and reliable I use the DVD Padded envelopes they have white or gold.  £25 for 300 (100 is free).  Web address is stormtrading.co.uk

Intocases for CD cases.  Well recommend this company as if any CD cases arrive broken they will refund you. (not postage). Based in Sunny Jersey! Web address intocases.co.uk

Think I will leave it there for now. See you all soon in the shop.

2ND MARCH 2012

Good morning everyone it is sunny here in South Devon I still not sure anyone is reading this so please pardon the delayed blog.  If I can see people reading it or suggesting stuff for the blog this might just encourage me.

More new music should be with me later today to go on to EBay.  Includes ABBA, Agnetha Faltskog, Frida, Etta James, Phil Lynott and hopefully The monkees!  Of course Davy Jones and Etta James who passed away recently  both will be reasonably priced.

ABBA will be releasing their first single for 18 years in April think around the 23rd found in the vaults! It's called twinkling star to a passing angel. Also re-releasing there last final studio album The Visitors on the same date hopefully as no mention in the key releases in Music Week.  The CD chosen for the shop was The Visitors.

I see another new release on Monday 5th March is the Military wives In my dreams you will have to support your local indie shop or  put some money in to the banks of HMV for this one!  Also Bruce Springsteen - Wrecking ball out on Monday as well! some back catalogue of Bruce in the shop.

I mentioned the postage for worldwide being reviewed by me.  I have a feeling the increase will be April as VAT may  go onto postage stamps.  It is already on some services. I won't put it up to I have to.  It is probably between Australia & U.S my top worldwide buyers.  Europe wise seem to suggest Germany as top CD buyers.

Think that is all for now please feel free to comment.

Please visit: stores.ebay.co.uk/cdmusicrow for the latest new and used Cd's. Many thanks chris

SUNDAY 26th FEBRUARY 2012

First the reason for no blogs is because I don't think there is much interest as still no members.  But I am prepared to try a daily blog from the 1st March and a few other ideas as well!

A Question & Answers Page but please if you have bought a CD from me please contact me via EBay if there is a problem that way I can solve it quicker!

A Review Page of some of the Cd's available would this be useful although one persons opinion is not somebody Else's!

Any other suggestions are welcome I am looking for comment on music I am wondering perhaps this is the wrong place but so is facebook and twitter.  We will see give it a whirl as it costs nothing just a little time.

I am going to have a go at reviewing some of the listings on EBay as some do not have tracks listed.  But this takes time so if there is not a track listing well worth contacting me through EBay and will respond as quickly as I can.

Most Cd's are sent within 24hours (Mon - FRI) where there is a problem I will contact the buyer via EBay.  Worldwide delivery is being reviewed as Paypal seem to suggest that it takes 3 - 5 business days to send to U.S.A and Australia. I would have thought more like 10 - 20 business days for non Europe. For Europe 5 - 10 business days sounds more like it.  But I will have a look on the Royal Mail site for guidance and will publish the details on a separate blog.  I will also see if there are any details about price rises for Europe & Worldwide normally prices seem to increase in April.

Please take a look at the shop on EBay!

MONDAY 30 JANUARY 2012

Welcome to the first regular blog of CDmusicrow. I hope you enjoy the read and may find the time to comment and become a member after all it is free to contribute. Worth mentioning at this point if you have a problem with a CD please get in touch with me via EBay.  I think it is common courtesy to give me the chance to answer problems as I am sure I can sort most of them without the use of EBay or giving a negative feedback.  There are not many perfect people I'm certainly not! I am sure you all make mistakes from time to time so always give eBay sellers a chance.

Since I started this in September 2010 I have sold over 2700 new and used Cd's through EBay so I feel a rating of 99.9% feedback is not bad but did want the 100% of course.  I intend to get it back to 100%.

The EBay shopfront has now changed to what I think is a clearer design then the last one!  This is the last time I will mention that CDmusicrow is not connected with discountmusiccds.co.uk in anyway lets says it an independent eBay shop. This web site is no longer working in any case.

New business cards are expected today to blend in with the new shop logo so will automatically replace the older ones.

I will shortly begin a test to sell Vinyl LPs  and music related material. I will give more information in due course. Some Auction listings are possible but this will be from another Ebay account as I think I will keep the Buy It Now seperate for now.  Just CDs & DVDs on the cdmusicrow shop.

So I think that wraps up the first regular blog will not be available to blog Tuesday and Wednesday but may well post on Thursday. See you then Chris

Please take a look today at what is on offer!!!

WELCOME TO CDmusicrow NEWS

Hello I am Chris Bryant I run an Ebay Store called Cdmusicrow. The journey started on the 8th September 2010 under a franchise called discountmusiccds. Please note this franchise as far as I am aware is no longer trading it was alledgely sold in Sept 11 but have heard nothing from the new owners. So It looks like I am on my own!! I sell a range of new and used cds / dvds across many genres currently I have over 1000 cds on ebay. I hope in the next year to reach my target of 3000 new and used cds.  I also hope to start trading on more selling platforms such as amazon, playtrade etc.
I will be blogging often in 2012 I tried a facebook page but that failed. So I want your comments on anything revelent to music - Certainly cd sales have fallen but I do believe there is still years left in the format as digital has a long way to go to overtake the sales of cds.
